Chiastolite is an Andalusite ( aluminum silicate ) whose crystal has carbonaceous inclusions with symmetrical distribution inside. It is about 4 parallel prismatic crystals, which cut in section form a characteristic cross, due to this cross the pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago use it as an amulet.
